  • AUPO - The Association of University Procurement Officers is the vehicle for the exchange of professional knowledge and best practice for Procurement Officers across the Higher Education sector.
  • Buy4Wales - is provided by the Welsh Assembly Government ‘Value Wales’ Procurement Team and is the sourcing portal for public sector buyers across Wales. See also Sell2Wales. 
  • Buying Solutions - is a commercial agency of the OGC (see below) and procurement partner for UK public services, with the aim of maximising value for money in sourcing of commodity goods and services for customers in central government and other public sector organisations. 
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply CIPS - is an international organisation, based in the UK, serving the purchasing and supply profession. Professional membership of the Chartered Institute is the preferred accreditation for Procurement staff in all public and private sectors though which many gain professional qualification.
  • HEPCW - The Higher Education Purchasing Consortium Wales represents members from a number of Higher Education institutions in Wales, and aims to identify and monitor strategic areas of expenditure where potential collaboration can result in greater efficiencies and Best Value for its members. 
  • NEC - the New Engineering Contract, conceived by the Institution of Civil Engineers, is a suite of contract documents that engages suppliers in a non-adversarial manner and facilitates the implementation of sound relationships and effective project management principles in works, services and supply contracts. 
  • OGC - (Office of Government Commerce) OGC's role is to provide support and guidance on procurement policy and best practice to public sector organisations, ensuring value for money, and improving sustainability, project and programme management.
  • Procureweb - is an ICT procurement support service, for the UK Higher Education Sector, UK Further Education Sector and Research Councils and provides web tools, information and support to those that participate in the procurement process.
  • Sell2Wales - operated by the Welsh Assembly Government provides suppliers with free web access in order to view public sector procurement notices and be alerted to contract opportunities. 
  • Supply Management - is the journal of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, providing support and guidance, including current articles and case studies, on all manner of Procurement practices.
  • TED - (Tenders Electronic Daily) is the official journal of the European Union, where tenders for public sector contracts over the EU thresholds are advertised.
