The joint procurement unit/purchasing team is based at Swansea University, where the team carries out its responsibilities to the University, but also works on behalf of Trinity College Carmarthen, and Swansea Metropolitan University. The Purchasing team currently consists of the following:-

Rhidian Morgan, MCIPS - Head of Procurement

Rhidian is the Head of the Procurement section, which is comprised of both Purchasing and Payments staff, and has worked in the Purchasing Office since its initiation. He has many years experience of public and private sector procurement and is a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Rhidian's main areas of responsibility are :

• Policies and Procedures
• Utilities

Julian Caruana MCIPS

Julian is the Senior Purchasing Officer. He has many years experience of purchasing within the NHS and is a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.   Julian's main areas of responsibility are :

• Capital Projects
• Research Equipment
• IT & Communications
• Business Travel
• Postal & Courier Services
• Office Furniture
• Supplier Negotiation 
• Guidance and advice on Purchasing, EU procurement and Financial Regulations.

Sarah Williams MCIPS

Sarah is the Purchasing Officer, and has numerous years experience in business and in Local Authority. Sarah is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and has main areas of responsibility as follows :

• Estates
• Catering 
• Consultancy & Professional Services
• Photocopiers
• Sustainability
• Supplier Negotiation 
• Guidance and advice on Purchasing, EU procurement and Financial Regulations.

Julie Powell

Julie has worked in purchasing for a number of years and works for SWWHEPP on a part time basis. Her role is therefore divided equally between Swansea University and SWWHEPP with main areas of responsibility as follows:

• 'POP' help desk & training
• Natwest Purchasing Card helpdesk & training
• Statements 
• General Queries

Laura Miles

Laura has worked in purchasing for a number of years and has main areas of responsibility as follows:-

• Photocopiers
• Corporate Stationery & Print
• Savings
• Recharges & general enquiries

Laura is currently on Maternity Leave, in her absence any queries can be directed to Tom Cadwallader

Tom Cadwallader

Tom has a number of years experience and has main areas of responsibility as follows:

• Office Stationery, Copier Paper & Office Supplies
• PC and Printer Maintenance 
• Contract Hire Vehicles 
• General Enquiries

Sheila Pictor / Barbara West

Sheila and Barbara work as part of the Purchasing team, but exclusively for Swansea University. Main areas of responsibility are:

• Input of new suppliers/creditors
• Adding/Amending bank details 
• General Enquiries
