Paul began his career as a Library Assistant in Devon Public Libraries and then at the Polytechnic of North London, before moving on to a long period with library system suppliers SLS (Information Systems) and Innovative Interfaces. During this period he had various roles as a customer support analyst, analyst/programmer, project manager and manager of implementation and data conversion services. He then spent over a year as an IT training consultant before joining the South West Wales Higher Education Partnership as 'Virtual Academic Library Systems Officer' in January 2008.  Since then he became Virtual Academic Library Project Manager in 2009.

After completing a History degree in 2002, Luke began his career with employment at Waterstones BookSellers in Swansea. The experience he gained there led to employment with the City and County of Swansea Library and Information Service as Learner Support Officer and E-Resources Officer. Over a period of 5 years, Luke was involved in a number of projects including the installation of the People’s Network and the procurement of a new library management system and RFID self-service solution. His regular duties included public and staff training, online catalogue and self-service customisation and virtual library resource development. After completing a PGCE in Primary Education in 2008, Luke was appointed as Virtual Academic Library Systems Officer in 2009.
