Asset Information
One of the key aims of the three estates departments is to improve their policies and procedures for the management and maintenance of assets.
A common maintenance strategy is to be produced as well as a common methodology and format for data collection. Once the strategy and methodologies have been agreed the institutions will progress with surveys to collect key asset data. This will be entered into the Estate Management Systems.
By the end of the SWWHEP project, all assets that have a significant statutory and/or maintenance requirement will have been entered into the system and the methodology for maintaining these assets will be established. Maintenance methodologies will include :
- Reactive maintenance (through the institutions’ help desks)
- Planned preventative maintenance (statutory and/or cyclical maintenance work)
- Long term planned maintenance (the replacement of assets at the end of their useful life)
All three institutions are keen to change the focus of their maintenance regimes from reactive to planned. This will mean that the risk of failure is reduced and assets remain in good condition and fully operational.
