eLearning Roadshow a big success
One of the principal jobs of any centre of excellence is the dissemination of good practice. As already stated the knowledge base will be expanded to provide the web delivery of information, but in advance of this the team have developed an eLearning Roadshow which was launched at the “Excellence in Teaching and Learning” conference held at Swansea early in June 2009. The conference was attended by academic staff from all three universities and the exhibition, which was available throughout the day, featured :
- Case studies sourced from academics across the partnership
- Informational presentations of a number of web 2 tools relating to the case studies
- Demonstration of interactive audience response system associated with one of the studies
- A pre-release display of the Help Centre knowledge base, and a new Turnitin Users Support community in Blackboard
- Demonstration of how to turn a wall into an interactive white board using tools built by the team, and of an interactive text wall by RSC Wales
In addition to the displays the SWWHEP eLearning team were on hand to talk with visitors along with SWWHEP Careers project and RSC Wales. Later in the week the Roadshow literally took to the road when it was used to support a Learning and Teaching research event at Trinity University College.
